Prof. Margaret Hall, JD student Vanessa Hope and JD student Kelly Melnyk will be attending the Canadian Elder Law Conference (“The Journey of Aging: The Law and Beyond, Connecting Across Discipline and Geography”) in Vancouver this week (November 12 and 13). The Conference is a joint initiative of the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC and the Canadian Centre for Elder Law. Margaret, Vanessa and Kelly will each be presenting a paper on their panel titled “Hard Cases, Tough Questions: Mental Capacity, Intention and Consent.” Prof. Hall will be presenting her paper on “UK Case Law Developing the Inherent Jurisdiction of the Court: The Vulnerability Jurisdiction”; Vanessa Hope’s paper is titled “Sexuality in Long -term Care Settings” and Kelly Melnyk’s paper is titled “Reflections on Three Cases Involving Testamentary Capacity.” Vanessa and Kelly would like to thanks TRUSU for their generous travel support.
